Recessed downlights are sleek and functional, although they also compromise your ceiling’s fire integrity. Fire rated downlights solve that problem. Each is fitted with an intumescent seal, designed to expand in high heat and reseal the aperture created during installation. This helps preserve the ceiling’s fire resistance for a minimum duration of 30, 60, or 90 minutes, buying vital time in emergencies and prevents the fire spreading between floors.

In both new builds and renovations across the UK, maintaining fire resistance between floors is essential. Building regulations require that any breach in a fire-resistant ceiling must be protected. Fire-rated downlights seal such breaches and are often mandatory under Part B of the Building Regulations 2019 Edition (Fire Safety).

Our fire rated downlights also meet Part C and include a moisture seal to prevent condensation and draughts, and Part E Acoustics to minimise the passage of sound between floors.
