Hi there, can you tell me if the pir function and the low light function are independent? I want the unit to turn on the lights at darkness and stay on for a period of time, but when they go off (during darkness) they would be triggered if the pir detected movement. Does this product do this? If not do you have a product that does?..Thanks.
Hello Paul and thanks for the question,
The PIR sensor and photocell work together. The photocell gives power to a wall light when it gets dark and the PIR sensor switches the light on when it detects movement. I don’t know of any product on the market that will do what you want.
We do have some dual level dusk till dawn lights that turn the light on at a low level and brighten when movement is detected that can be found by following the link below. They are the top four products, https://www.universal-lighting.co.uk/?s=dual+light+level&submit=Search&post_type=product
Question From Douglas Wyeth
I am trying to devise a deterrent for herons from my pond the idea being when a heron is detected the fountain would switch on to frighten it away, would I be able to use this product for that?
This PIR is designed for lights, and will not be suitable for switching a motor which is contained within a fountain.
