Vintage Ceiling Lights
Vintage ceiling lights are more popular than ever in the UK for good reason. Many people realise that there is absolutely no substitute for the quality and presence of vintage style lighting that graces the ceilings of the more traditional home. It’s quality lighting for a lifetime.
Original vintage ceiling lights can be prohibitively expensive and often need to be rewired for safety. The originals would have been hand-crafted from brass or copper and follow vintage style cues. Now you can get the same quality and the same brass and copper components, all handcrafted for you in the traditional manner.
Reproduction Vintage Ceiling Lighting
Old style lighting is the perfect companion in any period, traditional or older property. They are warm, inviting and available in almost any vintage UK style including Victorian, Edwardian and Georgian. The products in this category could be described as reproduction ceiling lights, made using traditional methods and in most cases hand-crafted.
If you have an 18th or 19th century stone built cottage, terraced property or country home, it is likely that more modern offerings won’t be suitable or appropriate. You will value the warmth and tradition of vintage style lighting for your ceiling, as it’s more likely to fit in with the look and feel of your home.
The majority of fittings in this section are made from solid brass or copper. Some feature hand-soldered construction whilst others have had threads cut and are screwed together, but in every case, they are suitable for older styled homes.
Some of the brass vintage lights in this section have been chemically treated to physically age the metal, whilst others have been highly polished and then lacquered to prevent tarnishing. Mirror polished nickel plating is used on some of the fittings, which are then lacquered to protect the finish.
Whatever you decide upon, you won’t be disappointed. Every light fitting in this section is of the highest quality and in some cases can be made or adapted to your own specification. Additional chain, cable and glass components can be hand-made to your exact specifications to create a bespoke option.
