Hanging Lanterns
Hanging lanterns are a classic choice for hallways and entrance halls, offering style and practical illumination. They should be sized proportion to the space, and ensure the bottom of the lantern leaves enough headroom.
Many designs have adjustable chains or dual-mount options that suit both standard and lower ceilings. They accept LED bulbs and are an excellent choice for stairwells and dining areas too.
Our key products include flush lanterns for compact spaces, small single bulb options and large multi-bulb options for grand entrances. Adjustable chain versions are versatile whilst offering sophisticated good looks and quality craftsmanship.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Are lanterns suitable for all ceiling heights?
Yes! Our pendant lanterns come with adjustable chains or rods, making them suitable for both high and low ceilings. For standard (2.4m) ceilings, use a flush or semi-flush lantern. For very low ceilings, consider one of our compact flush ceiling lights which offer a stylish low profile solution.
Are these lanterns safe for homes without an earth?
Yes, we offer Class II double-insulated lanterns that don’t require an earth connection, ensuring safety in older properties. Check product information for verification or call us, we’re here to help you.
Can hanging lanterns be used in rooms other than hallways?
Yes, lanterns are extremely versatile and add elegance to kitchens, dining rooms, or living spaces, enhancing the ambiance and looks.
What atmosphere do hanging lanterns create?
A quality lantern hanging proudly in the hall, stairway or landing creates a great first impression. It adds an extra dimension to traditional or modern homes and produces a lovely, warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Do I need a professional to install my lantern?
While installation is straightforward, we recommend a registered electrician for safety, especially for heavier lanterns requiring joist support. You can get a list of NICEIC registered electricians near you by adding your postcode.
