Universal Lighting Services Ltd was established on 9th September 1970 and has almost 55 years’ experience in the lighting industry. We are family owned and firmly established as one of the leading suppliers in the UK, and we are able to supply every light fitting available in the UK and Europe. We also supply every commercial luminaire available in the UK and Europe to specifiers, the building industry, factories and offices.
Universal Lighting Services Ltd initially specialised in manufacturing commercial switch gear, with a decorative lighting showroom opening in 1973 and remains in priory Street to this day. Our directors have spent a lifetime serving the public and have amassed a huge amount of lighting knowledge and expertise during that time. Our general manager Mark Tregunna has over 30-years of lighting and installation experience and is a fantastic source of knowledge for anything to do with light fittings, dimmers and switches.

We specialise in all aspects of home lighting, including decorative lighting, garden lights, energy saving and LED lighting, together with their associated products. We are up-to-date with all aspects of lighting and in particular the energy saving and low energy options available to you today and those that will become available in the near future. All of our lighting specialists are fully trained and receive regular refreshers in the products we sell. Many have undergone training at our brand partners to ensure that their product knowledge is of the highest standard. This training ensures that our staff make sure that you always get the right product for every situation.

Where we are
We are based in Birkenhead on the Wirral peninsula, near Liverpool on Merseyside. We operate from purpose-built showrooms, with offices and a large warehouse storage facility to the rear in Priory Street, situated next to Birkenhead Priory, a 12th century priory open to the public. We only offer products that we know to be of high quality and excellent value for money. With our own warehouse and showroom, we are able to supply many of our products from stock.
