Traditional & Modern Chrome Wall Lights

Most people associate a polished chrome finish with the more contemporary or modern designs. This is not always the case as many chrome wall lights are in a traditional style and will complement many different rooms including those with a modern or traditional theme.

Are the door handles, light switches or dimmers finished in chrome? Do you have mirrors with a silver surround? Are there any other items with chrome or silver trim? If so then a chrome finish will match and blend into the overall theme.

Polished chrome is well suited to light and airy rooms adding to the feeling of brightness due to the fact that they also reflect natural daylight very well. Placed either side of a large mirror or fireplace they can add an extra dimension to the room and create a focal point.

The same principal applies to satin silver and satin chrome finishes. Satin chrome or brushed chrome wall lights blend extremely well with stainless steel and silver. Once again look at the room before deciding on what type of finish wall light is best suited to the room.

Various Chrome Finishes Explained

Polished chrome is exactly as it sounds. The fitting is chrome plated and then highly polished to create an almost mirror shine. The reference to polished chrome is often shown as the letters CH.

Satin chrome and brushed chrome do not have a shiny appearance; this finish is often referred to as satin silver. It is finished as though it has been buffed or brushed and as mentioned, matches extremely well with stainless steel accessories. The reference to a satin finish is often followed by the letters SC for satin chrome or SS for satin silver.

Whatever finish you decide upon, chrome finish wall lights will look stunning and extremely smart when matched with the finish of existing household accessories such as a fire surrounds, curtain poles, switches and sockets and door handles.
