A pendant lampshade or 'easy fit shade' as they are sometimes known, are the perfect quick and easy solution to transforming a room. No electrical work is required, simply unscrew the lamp holder, attach the shade and screw it back on. So, what is a non-electrical or pendant shade? Quite simply they are shades that fit onto a lamp holder hanging for the ceiling rose flex.
They come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and are classed as non-electrical because they require no wiring in; they simply sit, on the light bulb holder.
The difference between a pendant non electrical shade is that a pendant shade is usually made form fabric such as cloth or strung and sometimes hard backed whilst a non-electrical shade usually has a metal frame and uses glass, acrylic and even crystal or Tiffany glass.
The benefits of a non-electric ceiling lamp shade are that they are easy to install and require no need for an electrician. They will look great on a landing, in a bedroom or in any smaller room.
Please note that most of our pendant shades are for use with an E27 (Edison screw) lamp holder. If you have a B22 (Bayonet cap) lamp holder you will need a converter. A converter is a simple metal ring that reduces the size of the hole for use with BC lamp holders.
