Rise and fall pendant lights and traditional pulley lights are perfect for use in any modern or traditional kitchen or over a dining table; in fact anywhere that requires bright illumination. The biggest advantage of rise and lower lighting is that once used, the pendant can be moved up and out of the way.
When I think about rise and fall lighting I cannot help but remember the single pendant with the curly flex and friction motor of the 1970's. They were mainly different coloured plastic shades with a single light bulb and a handle at the bottom to pull the pendant down or push it up. They have stood the test of time and are as popular today as they have always been but thankfully the quality of the shades and reliability of the mechanism is now better than ever.
Today, rise and fall lights are usually found in a kitchen or dining room, either above a dining table, kitchen island or breakfast bar. They are available in many different styles from ultra-modern LED to handmade period style ceramic rise and fall lights that look perfect in any period property.
A round rise and fall pulley light would be perfect over a circular dining table or kitchen island, whilst a straight bar would be better over a rectangular table, kitchen island or work surface. Some multi pendant rise and lower lights allow you to change the height of each individual light giving you the maximum flexibility possible.
